Cornwall-based wooden toy distributor Marbel says it has grown more than 300 per cent in recent weeks.
The firm has moved into a larger warehouse in order to process the increasing number of orders and deliveries more efficiently. A new website has also been developed to allow online ordering. The website also features special offers, news and product information.
Marbel’s director Christoph Bettin said: “We are seeing unprecedented interest in our products since the news broke regarding the levels of lead paint in some Chinese-produced wooden toys”.
“As products are been tested and re-tested as they leave China, we are carrying on with business as normal. All our toys are either produced in Europe or Thailand to exceptionally high standards,” Bettin said.
“We are keen to express that our toys are all produced from sustainable plantations, they are all finished naturally with preservative free-non toxic paints and have wond awards for both safety and innovation,” he added.
