Ravensburger awards local school with personalised puzzles

The Bicester school will use the puzzles to raise funds of up to £5,000 in the summer term.

Ravensburger has given away 500 puzzles to a local primary school to help it in its fundraising efforts.

Earlier this year, the firm partnered with a local newspaper to offer a fundraising boost to the Bicester community through a puzzle picture competition.

Schools were invited to submit artwork and enter the competition to win puzzles featuring their own designs.

The prize went to Longfields Primary School, who has now received 500 puzzles in its own design, created by the new Personalised Photo Puzzle service from Ravensburger.

The 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzles will now be used by the school to help raise up to £5,000.

“When we were told that our picture had won the competition, it was fantastic news for our school and for the two girls who drew it,” said Paul Hollidge, head teacher at Longfields Primary School.

“We plan to sell the 500 jigsaw puzzles during the rest of the summer term and eighty per cent of the cash raised will go to improving the school’s outdoor area with an activity trail.

“We have also decided to donate twenty per cent to a local cancer charity.”

Benn Bramwell, marketing manager, Ravensburger UK, added: “We felt that as a Bicester based company we wanted to get involved with the local community and contribute to school fundraising opportunities in a fun and interactive way.

“The picture competition provided pupils with a creative activity that benefitted them and their school.

“This has been a fun campaign for Ravensburger and we really enjoyed witnessing a child’s puzzle design come to life with our Personalised Photo Puzzle service.”
