Raleigh has added some extra appeal to its Hot Rod range. The classic cycle maker has put Turbospokes on 3,000 special edition versions of the new bike.
Turbospoke is a kids bicycle accessory which adds realistic exhaust sounds to any ride.
Tom Maxwell, Turbospoke sales and marketing manager, said: “Raleigh is and has always been such a dominant brand in the youth cycle channel. For Turbospoke to be associated with Raleigh and its 125 year heritage is really exciting for us. We think this tie-up is a fantastic way to bring the fun of Turbospoke to 3,000 very lucky kids.”
Raleigh product manager Jayne Bakes commented: “In the feedback and testing we’ve done so far there’s been a lot of excitement around the Turbospoke so we’re expecting these limited edition Hot Rods to sell out very quickly.
“It’s one of a few new innovations we’re bringing out on our 2013 models as we continue to push things forward in the design of children’s bikes.”
The Raleigh Hot Rod with Turbospoke will retail at around £170.
