Ragdoll Worldwide's pre-school property The Adventures of Abney & Teal will welcome a raft of new toy and publishing lines this autumn.
Master toy partner Rainbow Designs has already enjoyed success with its rag dolls, small beanies, games and puzzles.
Joining these in July will be squeezy Neep plush and wooden dominoes, while puzzle and racing Poc Pocs will arrive later in the autumn.
Good early sales followed a trial in John Lewis, while products have also performed well in Waterstones and Waitrose.
The AIS buying group, plus Debenhams.com and Amazon have also reported good sales, while Boots has launched the products online and will continue with solid listings for autumn/winter.
In addition, good listings have been secured with Sainsbury’s and Rainbow has also seen a high number of repeat buys from the indie sector.
Meanwhile, over in the publishing category, Walker Books will expand its existing range of paperback storybooks and ‘make your own story’ novelty book with The Games Day and the More-Maker on July 4th, and new Party Time flap book on September 5th.
Ragdoll has also been building the licensing programme in other categories, signing the likes of Immediate Media, Watermelon and Cooneen & Misirli, while a major DVD launch is planned for September.
“Abney & Teal offers something fresh, fun and new albeit with a wholesome traditional and safe feel,” said Stephen Gould, commercial director at Ragdoll Worldwide.
“These are valuable attributes that should greatly assist and enhance visible and tangible brand success of shelf.”
The Adventures of Abney & Teal airs daily on Cbeebies, attracting an average of 225,000 viewers per episode.
