UK brain training firm, Professor Puzzle has been placed in the top 50 Sunday Times SME Export Track 100.

Ranking Britain’s 100 small and medium sized companies with the fastest growing international sales over the last two years, the Sunday Times Lloyds SME Export Track 100 is published each February.

The company has labelled its placing as a ‘huge achievement’.

A company started in 1999 by Ben Meldrum with only £250, Professor Puzzle now sells through stockists in Germany, France and the US and also ranked number 39 in the 2016 Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 last December.

Meldrum said: “Gaining our place in this top 100 listing is such an honour. UK companies are fortunate to be located in a large market but this can be a mixed blessing.

“Because we don’t need to look beyond our borders to survive, we too often neglect the opportunity to grow significantly through becoming global businesses.

“Once we’d had success in one country, neighbouring countries noticed and quickly approached us. It was a domino effect which has made international growth easier than domestic, despite the complications involved in trading overseas.

“The only way we can continue our fast growth without trying to do everything for everybody is by focusing on our international sales, particularly North America. We are an incredibly focused and hard-working team and are delighted with this accolade.”
