MAPS' EZ Fort (pictured) recently featured in The Independent on Saturday's 50 Best Gifts for Children along with coverage in Creative Steps, That's Life, Real People and a number of parenting websites.

The company has seen sales rise following the coverage across print and online media for all of their different ranges.

Will Sharman, head of sales commented: "We are delighted with reaction to our toy ranges in the run up to Christmas. We have been featured in lots of Christmas Gift Guides including the well-respected Independent’s annual list.

"We hope this will generate further sales in the final Christmas shopping days. Maps Toys will continue to support all existing ranges and new lines with a comprehensive PR and marketing campaign throughout 2012."

Also included in The Independent's guide were the Doggie Doo game from John Adams, the Street Surfer skateboard from Street Surfing, Mattel's Angry Birds Knock on Wood game, the Hexbug Nano Elevation Set by Innovation First, The Green Creativity Recycled Bottle light from Great Gizmos and many more.

Warm Easter boosts toy sales

UK retail sales were up 4.6 per cent in April on a like-for-like basis according to the British Retail Consortium. This was due to Easter falling in April this year compared to March in 2008, along with warmer sunny weather this April, while last year it was cold and wet.
