The results of the annual Practical Pre-School and Primary Teacher Update 2013 Awards have been revealed at a ceremony in Birmingham today.

Award winners were chosen after months of testing by childcare professionals.

This year's winners include Golden Bear's In the Night Garden Igglepiggle and Munchkin's Splash Along Mermaid in the Toys and Games 0-3 years category, and LeapFrog's LeapPad 2 in the 3-5 years category.

Elsewhere, Gibsons topped the Classic Toys and Games category with its My Wheels puzzle set, and Flair's Skwooshi came out on top in the Creative Play section.
