Postman Pat makes Qubo debut

Evergreen UK brand to lead the charge on US multi-platform kids offering for autumn.

Popular UK show Postman Pat will take a starring role in the US this autumn: it was named yesterday has one of the key programmes in multi-platform network Qubo's autumn schedule.

Qubo was launched a year ago by Ion Media Networks, NBC Universal, Scholastic, Classic Media/Big Idea and Corus Entertainment. Its multi-platform offerings roll out on NBC on Saturday mornings, ION Television on Friday afternoons, Telemundo weekends, seven days a week online and on its digital channel.

Postman Pat was acquired from Qubo partner Entertainment Rights and will line-up alongside My Friend Rabbit, a newly commissioned pre-school series based on the books written by Eric Rohmann.

Nelvana Studios is producing the 2D show, according to a report on C21, which follows the adventures of Mouse and Rabbit.

Veggietales and 3-2-1 Penguins from Big Idea and Entertainment Rights will be returning, as well as Weta Productions and Nelvana's Jane & the Dragon and Scholastic's pre-school show Dragon.

All of Qubo's shows are associated with existing children's books.
