Polly Pocket: Mattel reassures UK public and retail

Mattel UK has moved to calm any fears amongst UK toy retailers or consumers, following its parent company's global recall of certain Polly Pocket magnetic playsets.

The company has told ToyNews that there have been no incidences or injuries reported in the UK with regards to the selected Polly Pocket magnetic playsets manufactured prior to April 1st 2005 - and it is only sets made up until this date that are under scrutiny.

Thus, there will not be any stocks of these particular playsets on retail shelves.

But consumers owning one of the specified product items can claim a replacement by contacting the Mattel Consumer Response team on 01628 500 303 or emailing helplineuk@mattel.com.

Around 366,000 of the relevant products have been sold in the UK since 2003.
