Pollock’s Toy Shop will be offering shoppers a festive treat for one night only, with a late night event of festive food and a puppet show.

The London-based independent puppet specialist will host its late night event in December, welcoming customers to enjoy free mince pies, mulled wine, gingerbread men and a traditional marionette performance.

The Toy Shop is located within Pollock’s Toy Museum on the corner of Scala Street and Whitfield Street.

“The puppet show will take you on a trip back through time, several hundred years ago to the puppet plays that were part of Bartholomew Fair in Smithfield,” owner Eddy Fawdry told the Fitz Rovia.

Pollock’s Toy Shop late openening will be held on Thursday, December 18th and will run from 5pm to 8pm.

One of the oldest and most traditional forms of children's entertainment, the world of puppetry still manages to more than hold its own in the modern market. ToyNews rounds up the latest theatrical characters to take the stage.
