A Fair Trade doll operation is launching a host of new products in the UK.
Pebble, which employs some 6,000 women in Bangladesh across 62 rural production areas, is preparing to bring a small collection of fresh handmade dolls to retail in spring.
These will be followed by its first range of limited edition rag dolls.
In the autumn, there will be a line of organic toys including play-sets.
“We have some fantastic new ranges for 2013,” Samantha Morshed MBE, CEO of Hathay Bunano, which produces the Pebble toys, told ToyNews.
“Pebble toys sell because they are gorgeous and because the prices are competitive.
“Pebble has a tagline – ‘putting smiles on faces worldwide’. We believe that when customers buy a Pebble toy, the woman who made it smiles because of the work she has through Pebble, the baby or child smiles because the toys are fun, and the customer smiles because she knows that not only does her child have a great toy, but that she is creating benefit to someone through her purchase.”
The range is supplied in the UK by Best Years.
