Pean moves on to Asian challenge

Mattel’s UK boss is leaving for a new role in charge of Asian territories.

After four years as general manager of the UK Jean-Christophe Pean is moving up to become vice president and general manager of the continental Asia and Australia/NZ region. He will be relocating to Hong Kong.

David Allmark will be joining the UK as senior vice president and general manager of a newly created market “cluster” of the UK and Canada. He will be based out of the UK office in Maidenhead and will take up the reins from mid-October.

Bryan Stockton, executive vice-president international explained: "Jean-Christophe has done an outstanding job achieving growth, building sustainable programmes and managing the overall UK business for Mattel. His unique blend of sales and marketing experience makes him an ideal fit for helping grow the Asia and Australia/New Zealand region to its full potential.

He brings a unique breadth and depth of experience to this position with a background that includes years of marketing in the UK as well as leading the international marketing for Fisher-Price, prior to his most recent role as general manager and senior vice president of Fisher-Price Friends based in New York. His deep understanding of the licensing business, the power of branding, combined with his product development experience, brings new exciting insights to the market”.
