BoBo Buddies, the firm behind a new backpack/pillow/blanket hybrid, has reported an “overwhelming” demand.

The products launched in October 2012 and have sold more than 3,500 units since.

The soft toys are now sold by over 80 UK stockists including JoJo Maman Bebe.

“With plenty more characters set to join the family, as well as brand new fun and functional products being launched later this year, it’s a very exciting time to be a BoBo Buddy,” read a statement.

Entrepreneur James Roupell came up with the travel product idea for children, which are designed to make travelling fun and easy.

He was nicknamed BoBo as a child, and the name stuck.

“We're delighted by the response to BoBo Buddies, it's fantastic,” Bobo Buddies’ Lucy Trewhitt told ToyNews.

“We think the response has been so overwhelming because we make good quality soft toys that are softer, cuter and more functional than anything else out there.”

BoBo Buddies supplies direct to retail.
