Orchard Toys is enjoying a successful 2012 and says its sales growth - forecast to be 15 per cent up by the end of this year - is thanks to an increase in UK customers.

“We thought that the growth would have been from the exports but it has been from the UK. It has been down to new customers coming on board,” managing director Simon Newbury told the Norwich Evening News.

“We have got a lot of customers who are very loyal to the brand,” he said.

The company currently has 115 products in its range and sells around 1.3 million of its educational puzzles, board games and books every year.

“Turnover has been up around 50 per cent since we moved here,” Newbury added. “There has been significant growth and we plan to continue to grow. We are not complacent about where we are. We are passionate about our product.

“One of the biggest things that gives the Orchard Toys brand an edge is innovation, design and that we look after out customers.”

Orchard Toys also expanded its premises by 60 per cent last year.
