The 2011 show saw 2,683 firms from 63 countries exhibiting, including 151 from the UK. In terms of visitors, it attracted 79,243 from 114 countries, including 1,962 coming from the UK.

The 2012 event will begin a day earlier, on the Wednesday, with the show running from February 1st to 6th, which organisers believe will benefit UK attendees as it will give them more workdays in a row for their visit.

“The range of visitors and products at Spielwarenmesse 2012 is unique; a third of our 80,000 visitors only attend Nurnberg,” explained a spokesperson.

“Exhibitors come from 63 countries and 727 of them attend no other fair. All in all there are one million products on show, of which about 70,000 are new; there are also major opportunities for licensees, distributors and merchandisers.”
