NUREMBERG 2017: LEGO, Hape, Tegu and Revell celebrate Toy Awards win

Tegu, Hape, LEGO and Revell are celebrating a particularly strong start to this year’s Spielwarenmesse, having each received a coveted ToyAwards gong.

The four firms were presented with the accolades at the opening ceremony of the 68th toy fair held in Germany’s Nuremberg.

Tegu took home the award in the Baby and Infant category for its Beans and TumTum Magnetic Wooden Block Set, while Hape International won in the Pre-school ategory for its Mighty Mountain Mine railways and mine set.

LEGO’s LEGO Boost triumphed in the School Kids category for its blend of traditional construction toy play and digital experiences for kids.

Completing the line up, it was Revell’s Revell Control X-treme Raver VR Racer the won out the teenager and adults category for its innovation in bringing virtual reality to the model car racing scene.

The four winners were selected from 635 entries and were judged on criteria such as play value, originality, safety, workmanship and quality, comprehensibility and potential for success at retail.

The winners of this year’s ToyAwards are on display in the Trend Gallery in Hall 3A.
