New toy licensees for Avatar

Ravensburger and Rubie's join line-up as Fox announces sequels for the franchise.

James Cameron and Fox have announced that the second and third Avatar movies are scheduled for release in December 2014 and December 2015 respectively.

Meanwhile the licensing programme continues to grow and the latest additions to the UK partners include Ravensburger, with a range of puzzles and games and Rubie’s Costumes, for dress up costumes and accessories.

Carl Lumbard, SVP and MD of Fox Consumer Products Europe said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to confirm that the Avatar experience will continue, and will offer our licensing partners a highly viable commercial opportunity that will span the next five years and beyond.

"We are working hard to extend James Cameron’s cinematic vision into a broad line of products that will engage fans in the world of Avatar through our licensing partnerships and product development process.”

The Oscar and Golden Globe winning epic is the highest grossing film of all time, taking in over $2.8 billion in worldwide box office. Avatar is also the top-selling Blu-ray disc of all time.
