The site carries a comprehensive range of products from wooden toy brands like like Brio, Plan Toys, I’m Toy, EverEarth and Kidkraft.

Launching the e-tailer under the tagline ‘The Toys They Deserve’, Lawrence is a firm believer in wood and it's durability.

She explains: “I love wooden toys. Having an 18 month old son myself it’s important to me that he has toys that will last and won’t lose their appeal. The wooden toys that I have bought for my son should still be going strong for my grandchildren, and great grandchildren and this is one of the greatest appeals of good quality wooden toys.

The opportunity to start the business arose once her son Sebastian grew old enough to go to school.

“I knew that my passion for seeking the best toys for him could make for a fantastic business making these toys available to other people with similar tastes,” Lawrence said.

You can follow The Canterbury Toy Shop on Twitter and Facebook, where new products, offers and competitions will be promoted.
