Moshi Monsters Music Rox! has gone Gold in the UK without any promotional airplay.

Released in April this year, Music Rox! is the debut 12-track album from Moshi Monsters.

In the UK a record must sell 300,000 copies to achieve Gold status.

The feat puts Moshi alongside the likes of Robbie Williams, Labrinth, Olly Murs, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj - all of whom have had Gold albums in the UK this year.

“We’re thrilled to see how well ‘Music Rox!’ has done in the charts, all without any radio or TV play," said Jason Perry, head of Moshi Music.

"To achieve gold record status in the run up to Christmas for our debut album is fantastic news and we’re grateful to all the Moshi Monsters fans. We’re sure it’ll be a fantastic gift or stocking filler this year.”
