More Chinese toys need export licenses

Seven extra product types now require export licenses, according to the Guangdong Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.

The categories include video games and stationery.

The licenses will have to be renewed every three years, as opposed to the previous five-year requirement.

Li Qingxiang, deputy director general of the bureau said: "All the new toys will have to be inspected for safety and to make sure they reach the required standard before they can be produced and exported.”
