London’s swanky Covent Garden is now home to a specialist Moomin shop.

Finnish ambassador Pekka Huhtaniemi and Sophia Jansson, niece of Moomin creator Tove Jansson, joined fans and members of the press to celebrate the store's grand opening on December 7th.

The shop is packed with Moomin merchandise such as plush from Aurora World, bags, stationery and more. Rare and collectable items are on sale.

Caroline Mickler, UK licensing agent for the Moomins, said: "Our guests from the press were genuinely delighted by the shop’s clever layout and fantastic displays of product — and they're not alone. We know from activity on social networking sites that fans are coming from far and wide to visit the shop.

"With that sort of public support and the success of the official opening, the Moomin Shop’s future, both as a business and as an iconic venue for Moomin fans, is a very bright one."
