Mojo Nation is joining forces with Magic Light Pictures for the launch of The Gruffalo Design Challenge.

Designed to give toy and game designers the opportunity to come up with a new play concept for The Gruffalo brand, designers will present their ideas to Magic Light Pictures.

“We’re delighted to have teamed up with Magic Light Pictures for our very first Design Challenge and couldn’t have asked for a better brand to be its focus,” said Billy Langsworthy, co-founder of Mojo Nation.

“The Design Challenge is a different approach to launching licensed product than the usual routes, but Magic Light Pictures has consistently proved itself to be one of the most innovate brand owners around and we’re excited to see what new Gruffalo toys and games arrive off the back of it.”

Taking place on September 11th at Chessington World of Adventures Resort, guests will attend a conference focussing on the brand values of The Gruffalo and will receive a digital pack featuring assets they can use when creating their toy designs.

Each designer will then have two weeks to create their toy or game before presenting them to the Magic Light Pictures team on September 25th and 26th.

Daryl Shute, brand director at Magic Light Pictures, added: “At Magic Light we love innovation and originality but it can be a struggle to maintain the brand values whilst creating new offerings.

“This Design Challenge is a really exciting way to bring some new minds into the world of The Gruffalo and see what they come up with.”
