Middle East Toy Fair opens

Winners of the event?s first awards programme announced.

Some 120 exhibitors from 23 countries have set up shop at the Dubai International Convention Centre, as Toy Fair Middle East kicks off.

The event’s size has grown ten per cent on last year, with more sponsors and participants coming on board, according to Monica Schulz-Blank, senior show manager.

Simba Toys Middle East picked up two awards as part of the event’s first awards programme – Best Culturally Adapted Toy for its Jamilia Family Tube and Best Education Toy for its Winnie the Pooh Play Center.

Other firms recognised include Haba for Best Boardgame; Winther for Best Outdoor and Activity Toy; Neat-Oh for Best Innovative Toy; Margarete Steiff for Best Baby Toy; Baby Art for Most Innovative Baby Product; and Edu Fun for Most Technologically Innovative Toy.
