Merger creates online retail network

US based E-tailers, Ty?s Toy Box and All Aboard Toys, join forces, creating independent toy destination online.

While the firms plan to operate independently, the merger will allow them to grow their combined businesses in order to provide customers with a larger assortment of licensed products including exclusives.

Together, the firms work with over 400 suppliers and more than 25 licensors/licensing agents, selling some 10,000 products including toys, apparel, school supplies, home decor, DVDs, costumes, party supplies and video games among others. Licences include Thomas the Tank Engine, The Wiggles, Dora the Explorer, Spider-Man, Barney and Curious George(TM).

Ty Simpson, current CEO of Ty's Toy Box, will be CEO of a newly-formed holding company which combines the businesses of both entities, while Dave Carlson, current CEO of All Aboard Toys, will serve as Chairman of the Board.

"Unifying the licensing relationships and online retail breadth of both AllAboardToys.com and TysToyBox.com creates one of the top-five online destinations for character-based toys and merchandise," Simpson said.

"With approximately $26 billion spent annually on character licensed product and the Internet being the fastest growing source of this revenue, combining our efforts will be advantageous to our licensing industry partners and provide our customers with an unprecedented assortment of character-related products, including exclusives they
can't find anywhere else."

"We've seen the exploding demand from our consumers who are looking for specific character-related products that they often can't find at their local retailer due to shelf space constraints," Carlson added.

"In addition, existing licensing relationships will benefit both retail websites, while assisting the licensing industry in building a stronger direct sales channel to its consumer."

AllAboardToys.com and TysToyBox.com are responsible for launching breakthrough entertainment brands and cultural favorite classic characters online via their toy and merchandise stores, including family favorites like
