Mega Bloks is on the hunt for the UK’s No.1 ‘bloke’ with a competition and campaign that will reach over 3m mums.

The construction toy company is working with new media partner Gurgle.com to find a dad, husband, brother, uncle or grandfather to be named Mega Bloke of the Year 2012. It’s also calling on women across the UK to help find them.

The 2012 Mega Bloke campaign kicks off on June 11th, just ahead of Father’s Day, and will consist of online advertorials, competitions, e-newsletters and editorial support across Gurgle, including a microsite.

Top prize is a a family holiday, courtesy of Butlins, as well as a Mega Bloke trophy and a selection of Mega Bloks toys. Ten runners up will receive a certificate and a bundle of toys.

Mega Bloks UK marketing manager Pete Fuller said: “We are delighted to be working with Gurgle.com on our Mega Bloke campaign this year and are certain the new microsite format and the voting system will encourage an even better response.

“We are also excited to be launching just before the summer as it will help build anticipation ahead of the introduction of our rebranded Mega Bloks First Builders construction range for pre-schoolers aged one-plus.”

The shortlist process and voting criteria for the Mega Bloke competition includes the following:

•A bloke who goes above and beyond normal duties

•A bloke who's supported a family member during a difficult time

•A bloke who's faced a tough time and has come through it while helping or looking after others

•A bloke with a special story

•A bloke who is just always there, no matter what
