Meccano has set off on a new partnership with leading children’s holiday camp operator Super Camps.

Meccano will feature as part of Super Camps’ A Passion for…. Invention course which will run in more than 50 venues throughout the summer months.

Developing dexterity and functional skills, the course will engage small groups to build both independently and collectively and those signing up to the week long course will enjoy daily build sessions and receive a free take-home starter set.

“Super Camps’ A Passion For… series offers the perfect opportunity to reach and engage with a core group of children who already know they will enjoy the challenge of Meccano in an environment where this groups enthusiasm along with the fantastic creations they make will showcase the Meccano brand to a much wider audience," said Emma Eden, Meccano’s marketing manager.

“We will extend the programme in autumn to incorporate Meccano’s new personal robot Meccanoid G15 KS, which will introduce programming skills and further creative challenges. We are really excited about this opportunity and look forward to what we hope will be a long-lasting relationship with Super Camps.”

Guy Ker, Super Camps’ managing director added: “It’s fantastic to have Meccano on board giving us the chance to offer kids this timeless classic building and design opportunity as well as the very latest technology and gadgetry going forward.

“Introducing Meccanoid into our autumn workshops will take A Passion For... Invention to another level of excitement which is likely to appeal to almost every child attending our camps, whether on that specific course or not.

"To this end we hope to be able to offer every child attending a Super Camp the chance to engage with Meccano’s fascinating new robot during part of their visit.”
