Comic book creator and toy maker, Todd McFarlane is bringing a new breed of horror to the construction sets market.
The famed collectables specialist McFarlane Toys has teamed with video game maker Scott Cawthon to develop a new line of construction sets based on the hit mobile horror game series, Five Nights at Freddy’s.
The first wave of construction sets will depict buildable scenes from the franchise, as well as feature the game’s main characters Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy as collectable minifigures.
Five Nights at Freddy’s has rocketed to become a cultural phenomenon over the last two years, with over 200 daily mobile downloads and a string of sequel titles under the gaming franchise.
Most notable for helping the game series see such success is a collection of YouTube videos featuring online stars recording their terrified reactions while playing the game.
One of the first new constructions sets to launch will encourage fans to build the iconic Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza restaurant as seen in the first game.
“We have struck a perfect balance,” said Todd McFarlane, owner and CEO of McFarlane Toys. “The mini figures for the Five Nights at Freddy’s sets are equal part cute and creepy.”
The new line will be available to retailers from summer 2016 and will be showcased at the McFarlane toys stand at New York Toy Fair 2016.
Todd McFarlane is the creator of the Spawn comic book series and CEO and founder of McFarlane Toys.
