Mattel inks DC Comics deal

Multi-year agreement makes Mattel official toymaker for whole portfolio.

Mattel has agreed a licensing deal with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to become the official toymaker for DC Comics, according to a report in Variety.

The two companies have been working together for the past seven years on one-off properties, beginning with Harry Potter and moving on to the likes of Batman Begins, The Batman and Justice League animated series.

The new multi-year deal makes Mattel the master toy licensee for the complete DC portfolio, which includes such characters as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Joker, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Green Arrow and Justice League.

Variety also reports that the deal covers past and future films and animated properties, as well.
