Pattni Imaginations is looking to take Match Stars to "the next level" by targeting £500,000 worth of investment on crowdsourcing site crowdcube.com.

Crowdsourcing lets large numbers of people pool together to provide big investment for business projects. People can pledge as little as £10 to fund entrepreneurs.

Pattni Imaginations MD Mayur Pattni said: “The Match Stars range has proved incredibly popular but just like any other business we need funds to grow and capitalise on this enthusiasm.

“The crowdfunding concept really appealed to us, as to be successful you need a compelling proposition, a strong existing consumer base and the ability to galvanise support – we tick all three boxes so I have high hopes that this will prove to be a success and help us take Match Stars to the next level."

Match Stars holds licences for the England football team, Premier League clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal and also top overseas clubs like Barcelona.

Series 2 of the action figures is due for release soon and production levels have been boosted to cope with expected demand.

A number of toy projects are turning to crowdsourcing for investment - recent examples include Bero and Tinker Tablet on Kickstarter.
