Match Stars, the soon-to-be released football action figure brand, has scored a major distribution deal with Mexican firm Funky Toys.
Although the toys haven't yet launched in the UK, Pattni Imaginations managing director Mayur Pattni has his sights set on international markets - starting with the football-crazy Latin America.
“This is a massive new deal for us,” he said. “We have already established significant interest in Match Stars in the UK, so international expansion was the next step and to have secured this agreement in a part of the world that’s absolutely football-crazy is a significant achievement and a sign of things to come."
Funky Toys will initially launch Match Stars in Mexico before branching out to the rest of South America. The Match Stars range includes Manchester United and Barcelona – two sides which enjoy huge popularity in the territory.
Funky Toys also has ties to Walmart, so there is potential for future distribution in North America.
