Wouldn’t it be nice to be a profiteering high flying trader? Making obscene amounts of cash while us mere mortals slave away for our monthly pay...

Well now you can live the dream with Market Meltdown, the latest offering from London-based board game maker Clarendon Games.

Moving the playing pieces around the board (private jets, naturally), players take on the role of traders betting hundreds of millions on behalf of the bank.

Just like investing in the real stock market, you can win and lose big and as the meltdown intensifies. Players are forced into more desperate stock market gambles in order to stay in play. The last player to remain afloat is the winner.

The gameplay is part familiar board game format, part roulette. Wildcards like market data, going rogue, banker’s bonuses and more add to the fun.

Will Sorrell, CEO of Clarendon Games said: “We wanted to immerse players in the thrilling and edgy world of making big money on the stock market during an economic meltdown. With Market Meltdown we believe we’ve succeeded.”

Market Meltdown launches next month and has an RRP of £29.99.

It's Clarendon's second title - its first offering Perigon already selling in department stores and independent retailers.
