Magson wins Martins deal

J.A. Magson has been awarded the distribution contract for newsagent Martin McColl?s toy ranges.

The firm has signed a new three-year contract to be category champion for Martin McColl’s toys and stationery.

Since awarding the contract Martin McColl have added a further 92 stores to their portfolio via the purchase of Smile in the South-West of England.

The deal will commence on 1st December 2007. Magson CEO, Steve Benger, commented: “This is an important development for both businesses, harnessing our expertise in toys and stationery to help grow the substantial revenue streams across all of McColl’s 1300 outlets.

“This contract win and the growth potential it represents is further evidence that our recent refocusing of the Magson business is paying dividends”.

According to Tony Start, Martin McColl’s Trading Director “Toys and stationery are important revenue earners in our Martin’s and McColl’s stores so we are delighted to have Magson as a partner in driving sales growth”.



Flair/Schleich win TRU awards

Toys R Us has awarded its annual Vendor of the Year Awards in the Toy, Babies, Consumer Electronics categories, plus two new categories - Supplier of the Year and Special Consistency Awards -  with Flair winning the Toy award and Schleich supplier of the year.
