The UK parenting site, MadeForMums has revealed the winners of the MadeForMums Toy Awards 2017.

Deliberated over by a panel of judges made up of toy experts and over 250 children, a list of hundreds has been whittled down to the 36 lucky winners of this year’s awards.

The MadeForMums toy awards celebrate the best children’s toys at every age and stage, form newborns to preteens, with awards ranging Best Baby toy, Best Science Toy and Best Wooden Toy.

This year saw robots dominate the shortlist, inspiring the creation of the Best Robot category, a sector that looks to be big trend in the run-up to Christmas.

“The results show that this year is the year of the robot, when digital toys have really come of age,” said Susie Boone, editor of MadeForMums.

“There were high quality robots and digital toys entered in all age groups and the feedback from the child toy testers, their parents and the judging panel showed they have real play appeal, great interactivity and kept our testers engaged for longer than ever.

“That’s not to say classic toys have had their day, they are just adapting to modern tastes to remain popular – a traditional wooden tea set updated to a coffee-pod machine to reflect today’s latte culture, quiz cards with augmented reality, and a traditional doll’s house reimagined as a Manhattan loft all proved popular with the toy testers and judges and look to be in demand again this Christmas.”
