Lotería card game heads to the US, Canada and Mexico

As well as launching the game in these territories, One Entertainment plans to expand the Lotería brand into apparel, stationery and publishing.

One Entertainment has teamed with playing cards firm Don Clemente to bring the Lotería card game to the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Lotería, already hugely popular in Latin America, is a bingo-like game dating back centuries. As well as launching the game in these territories, One Entertainment plans to expand the Lotería brand into apparel, stationery, gifts, promotions and publishing.

“Lotería is a fixture in Mexico,” said Alex Altamirano, managing partner, One Entertainment.

“Mexicans have played the game for generations, and it holds a special place in our culture. We are honored to be bringing this piece of Mexican popular culture to new product categories.”

Luis Landin, president, Don Clemente, added: “We are excited to start working with One Entertainment and to expand the reach of our game to new product categories and consumers.

“Mexico and the United States are strong markets for our card game, and we are confident Lotería will prove to be a valuable asset for licensing and retail partners.”
