ToyNews has launched a new podcast for the toy and game inventor community, and the first episode is available to listen to below.

For this inaugural outing, ToyNews editor Billy Langsworthy and ToyNews deputy editor Robert Hutchins are joined by former Saturday Night Live writer turned game designer Andy Breckman and Bananagrams creator Rena Nathanson.

We chat with Andy Breckman about the benefits and challenges of using Kickstarter to launch his latest game, the origins of his Who Tooted? title and why writing comedy and creating games have more in common than you might think.

Elsewhere, we talk to Rena Nathanson about where the idea for Bananagrams came from, how she deals with counterfeiters and her creative process when it comes to adding new titles to the Banangrams 'bunch'.

You can listen to the episode below, or download it for later. This first episode will be landing on iTunes and YouTube later too.
