Learning Resources has scooped the Education Resources Award (ERA) for the Best Primary Curriculum Resource thanks to its STEM Robot Mouse.
Organised by BESA, the trade association representing educational suppliers in the UK, and Brilliant Marketing Solutions, the awards aim to recognise the quality and diversity of products.
The judges at the ceremony said: “The STEM Robot Mouse Activity Set would encourage children to build hands-on coding skills in a fun and enjoyable way. It was very easy to construct and represented excellent value for money.”
The mouse is a part of the company’s new STEM range, and has been designed to bring problem solving to life.
Dennis Blackmore, MD at Learning Resources, added: “Learning Resources are at the forefront of STEM learning in the classroom, providing colourful, simple tools that support skills from scientific exploration and engineering to physics and coding.
“The judges commented on the resource’s educational benefits and value for money, reflecting our aim to provide fun, hands-on learning experiences both at home and in the classroom.”
The company were also finalists in the SEN-non ICT category with its All About Me Family Counter Cars and the primary-non ICT category with Plot Blocks.
Caroline Wright, director at BESA, commented: “What makes these awards different is that they focus on the resources, services and people that really make an impact on learning and the day-to-day work of the teachers in the classroom.
"The UK education sector is currently in the unprecedented position of offering ever improving standards of excellence. Thousands of educators from across the world visit the UK each year to review and buy products from our suppliers because of the quality offered. We would like to congratulate Learning Resources for its outstanding resource.”
