Konami has announced plans for an extensive Christmas TV campaign for its Yu-Gi-Oh TCG.
Publish date:

Sales of the game have now passed the 22.5bn mark, seeing it enter the records as the best-selling trading card series of all time.

Konami took over the distribution of the cards globally in May, and is planning an extensive TV campaign to promote the series and the new decks set for release in 2009.

The ads will run from September onwards, and will detail the release of Konami’s Ancient Prophecy Booster Pack which is now on general release.

Since Konami resumed distribution of the card game, it has released a series of extension packs and a 2009 Starter Deck, followed by two new designer tin packs. The new Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s cartoon series has also enjoyed strong ratings since its launch on cITV in June, and all new cards feature characters and spells seen in the show.
