Construction toy firm K'Nex has revealed the first winner of it's national schools competition, in which one lucky school every month will be selected to receive £250 worth of K’NEX Education construction kits, which are used in classrooms across the UK to bring to life Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths (STEAM) concepts through 3D builds.

“I was so pleased to hear that we had won the K’NEX Education kits, as I have a particular passion for science and engineering!" commented Caroline Martin, teacher at Brimpton Primary School, the school named as winner of the competition's first prize.

"It’s great to see pupils enjoying them in class and we’ll also be using them during wet play and science clubs.”

The school selected prizes including brand new K’Nex Education Maker Kits and K’Nex Education STEM Explorations Kits encourage pupils to get their STEAMaginations working. From basic kits for small groups to wheels, motors, machines, swing rides and coasters, every item in this new line includes a comprehensive teaching guide, building instructions and hundreds of K’Nex parts.

Already well established with teachers, K’Nex has ramped up its presence within the education sector in 2017. In Q1 alone, the construction play experts have exhibited at The Education Show and BETT as well as showcasing an array of builds at an event hosted by Reading College to inspire primary school pupils to get excited about STEAM careers.
