The Welsh FG50, presented by the University of Wales Global academy, recognises companies which have real sustained growth. The awards also highlight SMEs willing to create jobs and prosperity, to overcome the last vestiges of the worst recession since the 1920s.
Kids@play is committed to returning toy manufacturing to Wales, and is currently working with HSBC bank and Finance Wales to purchase further new tooling, which will enable entirely new developed parts to be made and assembled in the Welsh principality.
Malcolm Evans, founder of Kids@play told ToyNews: "We were so pleased to be awarded this trophy it is a true recognition that what we are doing is actually working. Our wheeled toys are selling out remarkably well, we have some very exciting new products for 2012 and we will be announcing another major toy licensing deal during Toy fair season in the new year.
"Our first major licensing deal was with the BBC worldwide for our ride-in powered Dalek. I am particularly pleased to see that this product is selling out well and that we have had just over 300,000 hits for the Dalek ride-in video on YouTube."
