Jumbo hits AIS show as it claims top adult puzzle spot

According to NPD, Jumbo remains the UK’s number one adult puzzle and accessories manufacturer for the 10th year in a row.

Jumbo Games is set to showcase a line-up of new products at this year’s AIS show, with the brand’s Wasgij range headlining the offering.

Fans will be able to get their hands on the new Wasgij 20th Anniversary special edition puzzle, the Wasgij Original 27: The 20th Party Parade Puzzle that is launching in May, as well as the three Wasgij Retro puzzles, Original 1, Destiny 1 and Mystery 1.

Another key focus for the firm will be the Falcon de Luxe puzzle range, where 10 brand new puzzles will be on display.

Meanwhile, the firm will be taking its range of children’s brands to the show, including Peppa Pig, Thomas & Friends and Disney Cars 3.

This news follows Jumbo’s latest NPD results, showing that the company remains the UK’s number one adult puzzle and accessories manufacturer for the 10th consecutive year in a row.

Jumbo’s Wasgij puzzle brand also shared the manufacturers milestone of 10 consecutive years as the UK’s number one selling adult puzzle brand.

“I’ve seen a lot of articles in the news lately about the rise of puzzles, and how in a digital era, people’s desire for traditional puzzles and board games are making a ‘come back’ in the market,” said Stewart Middleton, MD at Jumbo Games.

“The proof is in the pudding, with adult puzzle sales seeing a double digit rise in 2016 according to NPD and it’s really great to see this trend reflected across our portfolio.

“Our Falcon de Luxe brand saw its best performing year, proving our strategy throughout 2016 to be extremely successful. I am delighted that we are in the position to report such positive results so early in the year, as we have a lot still to come for 2017.”

Jumbo increases adult puzzle offering as sector sees continued growth

The latest NPD results reveal that Jumbo’s core adult brands are continuing to see strong double-digit growth with Wasgij, Jumbo’s leading adult puzzle brand up 14 per cent in its 20th anniversary year. Jumbo’s Falcon de Luxe premium puzzle collection has continued to grow throughout 2017 and YTD July figures show the brand up 18 per cent.
