With the closing date for the entries in the search for the punniest business in Britain drawing near, the judging panel has been named for this year's Punniest Business in Britain Awards 2015.

Joining ToyNews' own deputy editor Billy Langsworthy on the panel will be Sarah George, online editor of Professional Hairdresser, Helen Edmonds, editor of fish and chip shop trade title Fry Magazine and Twitter-based punning enthusiast Sean Leahy (AKA @ThePunningMan).

These judges will join build-your-own-app provider Appsme.com in choosing the business with the punniest name in the country, from a shortlist of entries submitted by members of the public and business owners themselves.

“We’ve had a great response to our search for the Punniest Business and have enjoyed looking through the hilarious entries we’ve received," said Nick Barnett, CEO at Appsme.

"Saying that, it’s great to welcome the judges on board and take some of the pressure off when it comes to picking a winner.

“We can’t say who our favourites are yet but the standard is very high and we’re expecting a lot more names to come forward as the June 21st deadline approaches.”

Punning expert Sean Leahy added: “From my experience if you can make someone laugh, but at the same time understand what business you're in, then you've got the perfect name on your hands. However, what you might call a 'perfect' pun doesn't always necessarily make the best one.”

The winner of Punniest Business Award will receive an Apple Watch, a trophy and a suite of business applications to help them run their business on the go.

Whoever nominates the winning business will also win their own Apple Watch.

Nominate your favourite punniest business by entering their details on the Appsme website, or tweeting their entry using the hashtag #PunniestBusiness.
