The position involves managing and growing the existing brands, Fifi and the Flowertots and Roary the Racing Car and the strategic planning and implementation of the ongoing licensing programme.
The new recruit will need to develop and implement launch programmes for new brands and will be responsible for sales analysis and forecasting.
The head of licensing role includes building, nurturing and managing partnerships with licensees and retailers and managing global product development with a team of four others, while liaising with marketing, PR, finance and legal teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring brands are positioned, presented and sold correctly and on-brand, maximizing potential and revenue, while also ensuring all product categories are being fully developed.
Working with the creative team to ensure product development is in line with brand guidelines is also part of the role.
Regular updates and presentations will need to be made both internally and externally and the new recruit will be required to attend exhibitions, fairs and trade shows to look for trends and potential relationships in the UK and overseas.
To fill the role, Chapman is looking for an individual who is currently in a senior licensing role with a strong commercial understanding of business in general and the retail market place.
The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of building brands and a good knowledge of the available licensees and licensors, alongside a knowledge of trends.
The company requires an individual with confidence and assertiveness who is able to communicate at all levels.
Candidates will need to be passionate about the business and the job, independent thinkers and a strong team manager and team player with good attention to detail.
Applicants should have a minimum of five years experience in the licensing or relevant sector industry and have retail experience/understanding. A degree would be desirable but not essential.
