Interplay brings GoldieBlox to the UK

First three kits in the GoldieBlox series to launch in the UK this July.
Publish date:

GoldieBlox, the US toy company that found fortune through crowdfunding in 2013, has appointed Interplay as its exclusive UK distributor.

The construction toy firm – founded by Debbie Sterling, an engineer from Stanford University – has seen success in the US with sales of over 280,000 units since its launch.

The range was developed with the aim of rebalancing the equality between males and females in engineering roles.

Interplay will launch the first three kits in the GoldieBlox series to the UK this July.

Each kit blends construction sets with a story book adventure, following the main character Goldie as she enters the world of construction.

Targeting children aged four and upwards, the range aims to introduce engineering and technological principles to young children, encouraging them to invent and help Goldie build machines to resolve the in-story problems she encounters.

Interplay now plans to emulate the success the brand has seen in the US, here in the UK.

Gemma Porter, marketing manager, Interplay UK, said: “We are delighted to be appointed as the exclusive UK distributor for this new collection.

“The entire Interplay team loved the GoldieBlox concept as soon as we saw it and felt it fitted perfectly with out portfolio.

“We are looking to emulate the success that the US has achieved and bring GoldieBlox to a brand new generation of female engineers in the UK.”
