The Imagination Gaming Family and Education Game Awards 2016 is now open for entry, encouraging companies from across the globe to get involved.

Now in its fourth consecutive year, the IG Game Awards aim to seek out the best titles in family and educational games, looking for entries from some of the world’s leading game creators, to the smaller name start-ups.

Board, card and dice-based tabletop games are all encouraged to enter the Awards and nominated entrants will be used as a cornerstone of Imagination Gaming’s daily events and nationwide educational programme.

The award competition will cover seven specific categories and al entrants will be assessed by a panel of experienced educational professionals and family game enthusiasts.

However, the games considered for the awards do not have to necessarily be designed for education as the competition has historically covered a spectrum of games from table-top or geek-gamer titles, to skills focused games for children and adults.

“These are exactly the games that Imagination Gaming uses to engage, enthuse, educate and to promote interaction with critical social and curriculum based life skills,” reads a statement from the IG Game Awards founders Nigel Scarfe and Chris Standley.

“There is no substitute for great content, mechanics and design and the awards recognise this.”

The final date for entry into the awards is Friday, April 29th and the winners will be revealed during this year’s UK Games Expo, running from June 4th to 6th.

Further details and how to nominate or enter the awards can be found here.
