Hobbycraft opens 45th store

Retailer opens its first superstore in Tunbridge Wells and 45th store nationwide, creating 30 new jobs.

The store is located in the North Trading Estate and will open on the on Saturday, December 5th.

The first 100 visitors into the store after the doors open at 9am will be given a free gift and throughout the day shoppers will be able to enter a free prize draw to win a share of £500 worth of HobbyCraft vouchers just in time for Christmas.

Deborah Grimwood, general store manager, said: “While many businesses are struggling, HobbyCraft is bucking the trend as arts and crafts activities attract more and more participants and we are delighted to have created around 30 new jobs for the area.”

The new store offers more than 35,000 products for 250 creative activities and hobbies and is dedicated to providing the biggest choice of arts and crafts materials under one roof anywhere in the UK.

The store is the 45th HobbyCraft superstore nationwide and is situated on the North Trading Estate on Longfield Road in Tunbridge Wells (TN2 3UR). Retail neighbours include Toys R Us, Wickes and Homebase.



Hobbycraft carves a niche

Hobbycraft is side-stepping the difficulties faced by the vast majority of retailers and is in fact posting some impressive growth figures along with bold expansion plans. Katie Roberts spoke to MD Chris Crombie to find out more?
