Hit launches new awards program

Company's licensees and agents honoured in The Pingu Awards

Hit Entertainment has crowned the winners of the inaugural International Pingu Awards, which recognise the outstanding efforts made by its licensees and agents.

The gongs - which were presented at a special reception hosted by Hit just before Licensing International in New York - are split across seven categories of the licensing industry, including the Agent of the Year.

Peter Byrne, executive VP worldwide consumer products group at Hit, commented: "Hit prides itself on working with the best agents and licensees around the world and these awards recognise the achievement of our partners who excel in their respective fields."

The winners are:

International Licensee of the Year, Soft Goods: TV Mania, Germany
International Licensee of the Year, Hard Goods: RC2 Australia
International Licensee of the Year, Food/beverages: Ceres, South Africa
International Retail Promotion of the Year: SRTL, Germany (Bob the Builder Make Germany Bloom campaign)
International Retailer of the Year: Myer Australia
International Live Event of the Year: Exim Licensing, Uruguay
International Third Party Promotion of the Year: SCP for Sumitomo Life, Japan
International Agent of the Year: Haven Licensing, Australia
