HERO PRODUCT: Rumbly Tumbly Pooh

A major marketing drive will be backing the arrival of Tomy's new Winnie the Pooh line early next year, with the interactive feature plush taking a starring role.

Tomy’s new Winnie the Pooh range will include 25 new products from core nursery lines such as rattles and lightshows, through to play-sets and feature plush. The collection will be launching in the UK, France, Germany, Benelux and emerging markets from January 2012.

Rumbly Tumbly Pooh will arrive in spring/summer. When Pooh’s tummy rumbles, children can lift the attached ‘hunny’ pot to his mouth and listen to the echoes as he hums the Rumbly Tumbly song. Remove the pot and Pooh will hum along with a full tummy.

“Tomy is committed to producing products with real play value that will be loved by young ones and parents alike and we’re very excited to have the chance to apply that principle to Pooh and his friends for 2012 and beyond,” explains Ruth Williams, marketing manager at Tomy.

“Our Pooh range is all about taking Pooh back to basics – allowing children and their parents to escape to the nostalgia and whimsy of the Hundred Acre Wood.”

To support the Winnie the Pooh range, Tomy is planning a national marketing campaign, due to kick off at Toy Fair in January 2012. Plans include TV advertising, partnerships with key online parenting websites and press advertising. Tomy is also planning PR and social media campaigns for key Winnie the Pooh products.

Other items in the range will include the Lullaby Dreams Lightshow, Starry Night Lightshow, Pooh and Friends Spin n Play Acorn Train and Push n Play Buddy Buggy.




For 2011 Tomy is expanding its infant toy range, Play to Learn, with the introduction of an updated version of a classic Tomy toy ? the Big Loader?
