Congratulations to Heather Corbett, who has been named as the top young professional in the marketing industry, winning Young Marketer of the Year at the Marketing Society Awards for Excellence last night.
When Corbett joined Innovation First two years ago she was tasked with raising the profile Hexbug, which at the time had a low profile and lacked consumer awareness in the UK.
Now a hugely popular toy brand, Corbett achieved success for Hexbug by implementing a strategic and comprehensive marketing campaign including advertising, public relations, trade shows, and social media.
Thanks to the strategy, by the end of 2011 Hexbug sales had grown to nearly £10 million in the UK, with over 1.5 million units sold. Innovation First estimates that 1 in 40 people in Britian now own a Hexbug.
Corbett – a member of ToyNews’ 30 under 30 - said: “It has always been a personal goal of mine to be part of the prestigious Marketing Society Awards.
