Intelex has identified 2012 as the year of the owl and has developed Hootys - an owl themed extension to its Cozy Plush microwavable soft toy brand.

The £9.95 RRP Hootys are filled with treated millet and scented with lavender. After only 90 seconds in a microwave the Hooty is ready to warm beds and help relax children at bedtime.

"We have been absolutely delighted with the phenomenal response from retailers for our exciting new Hootys range," said Intelex sales director Darren Ingram.

With the on-going popularity and success of our Cozy Plush, Hootys will continue to extend the heatable soft toy category and cater to the demand of our consumers and customers wanting a wide variety of warmable toys."

"We think Hootys fits the bill perfectly and will compliment retailers existing range of owl themed stationary and knick knacks. With the likes of large multiples like Fenwick’s, Beales and Bentalls, to independent gift retailers, garden centres, pharmacies and toy shops visiting our trade stand and placing orders, we are confident consumers will find wide availability of Hootys in store in the months leading up to vital Christmas trading period."
