Nursery distributor Goldbug has signed an exclusive UK and Ireland distribution deal for new European children’s tableware range Placematix.

The interlocking tableware is designed for 'both function and fun' and is compatible with Duplo, Mega Bloks and other brick construction sets.

The range features brightly coloured, highly durable, food safe tableware designed to make mealtimes 'more enjoyable for children (and mums!)'.

Goldbug will initially launch the Placematix Gift Set which contains a large non-slip placemat, plate, bowl, spoon and fork, with new products to follow throughout 2014.

“Based on the extremely positive and enthusiastic reactions we’ve received from both trade and consumers worldwide, we are now eager and ready to serve the world this unique and innovative concept," said Coendert Habers, sales director at Placematix.

"To us Goldbug is the right partner that will undoubtedly unlock the full potential of Placematix in the UK and Ireland”.

Will Sharman, head of sales, Goldbug, added: “The Placematix deal is brilliant news for Goldbug as it’s a perfect fit with our company’s ethos.

"We strive to provide our customers with products that are high quality and safe for children. We also feel that this extends our distribution channels going forward which is fantastic.”

The new Placematix Gift Box will be showcased at the Harrogate Nursery Fair but stock will be available from the first week of December 2013 with an SRP of £24.99.

The full Placematix collection from Goldbug will be supported by a PR & marketing campaign.
